How to Recover Deleted Call History on Android

Your call log is not backed up on an Android device. Surely, the list of people you called or received calls from stays on the call log for a short duration. However, upon deleting the log mistakenly, it is gone forever.

For Android s, there are several third-party apps available that you can use to create a backup of your call logs. In case of an accidental deletion of the entire call log on the phone, restoring the backup would fetch the call history on your device.

On Android devices, you have to rely on third-party apps to back up your call logs. When an accidental deletion of call history happens, access the backup in the concerned app and retrieve it.

Restore Deleted Call History using SMS Backup and Restore

Start by installing the SMS Backup and Restore app on your device from the Play Store. It is a third-party app. It will serve a lot of ads if you prefer using the free version. You can remove ads by stepping up to the version of the app.

1. Launch the SMS Backup and Restore app.
2. Tap on Call Logs.
3. You may select to save your call log backups to local storage or Google Drive.
4. Tap on Backup All to create an instant backup of call history on your device and save it to local storage.
   
5. Switch to the LOCAL tab to see the backups that have been created.
6. Press the kebab menu icon and select to Gdrive.
7. Select the Gmail to save the backup of your call log to the cloud.
   
8. Allow the necessary permissions for the app to access Google Drive.

The idea is to save the locally created backup of call history in the cloud. That will allow you to restore the backup on your device when you delete the call log.

Alternatively, you can your telecom service provider. Send them an email to provide you with the call logs for a particular timeline.

You can request to view the call log for the last couple of months. All the important numbers from which you received phone calls but forgot to save them should be present on the call log.
